We are pleased to announce the release of the SETO-HORI REMODEL, an original SETO-HORI MC cartridge.
Released in 2019 the SETO-HORI, received widespread global recognition. The new name for this continued legendary product will be the “SETO-HORI REMODEL,” which emphasizes integration of the cartridge with the headshell for a true precise sound.
The headshell and cartridge’s center of gravity, which are machined from aluminum and copper alloy ingots, are positioned directly on the tonearm’s centerline for maximum sensitivity when tracing a record. Additionally, the screw-free integrated body allows for a lower degree of coarse resonance.
SETO-HORI REMODEL is a unique technological fused balance of Traditional Japanese craftsmanship and Cutting-edge engineering.

Development History
Based on the technology developed to precisely regulate the vibration system of NEUMANN’s cutting heads, we decided to merge the headshell and cartridge into a single unit to optimize the advantages of JICO’s original MC cartridge “SETO-HORI.” The headshell and cartridge are combined in the SETO-HORI REMODEL model.
This extensive approach to vibration system and magnetic field characteristics allows the groove of a vinyl record to be picked up and reproduced with an extraordinary level of resolution.

Setomono Enclosure
Setomono is regarded as unsuitable for cartridge housing due to its significant shrinkage when fired during the molding process.
Furthermore, JICO was able to commercialize its product through the addition of manual work by a team of record needle craftsmen during mass production at its main facility.

Micro Ridge + Boron Cantilever
The “Micro Ridge Diamond Tip” has a polyhedral shape and a life span that is more than three times that of a standard record stylus. The cantilever is constructed of Boron, a material with exceptional elasticity and the ability to replicate low-frequency frequencies.

Cartridge Section
In addition to its insulating properties, low permeability and high coercive force, the ceramic case provides the most comprehensive protection of the fine magnetic field characteristics within the MC cartridge.

Headshell Section
The material is an alloy of aluminum and copper that was completely machined by a 5-axis machine to create a single-piece body with uniform vibration characteristics.

In order to accurately follow the pivot movement characteristics of the tonearm, the headshell and cartridge body have a vertical center of gravity configured at the center of the tone arm.

By balancing the tone arm with a body weight of 26.8g, the amplitude of vertical movement is kept to a low frequency, minimizing stress on the stylus suspension.
(The overhang tonal range is 56mm (±2mm)

An electromagnetic noise-absorbing sheet with a permeability of 10μ is inserted between the cartridge and the headshell to counteract the changing characteristics of the magnetic properties.

Lead Wire
The lead wire of the cartridge is made by Koike Analog Factory.
The positive side of the 29mm lead wire is Oyaide 102SSC 0.28mm 3-pair set.
The negative side is a Hitachi OFC 0.18mm 8-pair set.
Provides full support for high-resolution sound.
