Super Analog Stylus (SAS) Profile Tip
The tip of the Super Analog Stylus is carefully chosen from single-crystal natural diamonds. The laser-cut diamond closely resembles that of the cutting stylus used on a cutting lathe to produce the acetate master disks used in vinyl production. This allows the SAS tip to reach into the deepest recesses of the record groove in order to retrieve details which were previously inaccessible to other stylus profiles. Due to its wide contact area with the groove wall, the SAS can reproduce a more expansive bandwidth of information with higher fidelity.
Cantilever
The four facets of SAS/R’s crystalline ruby cantilever taper toward the diamond tip. This tapered ruby cantilever design allows for lower moving mass, giving the SAS/R even greater ability reproduce vibrations in the record groove with precision, accuracy, speed, and fidelity.

Tried all 5 different SAS stylus on the Technics EPC-205CMk3/4 cartridge’s over the years … this ruby cantilever version is the madman!

One needs a finely dialed in phono amp, turntable & arm to really make it shine, detail, detail, detail, crushes all but the best Moving Coils. However do understand the Ruby tends to come off a bit hot on lesser rigs. On the other had it cuts right though the stock copper tone arm wiring on say a vintage Technics table, it’s all a question of balance. These days it’s hard to find a great MM cartridge, even harder, a proper MM phono section that can do the Ruby SAS justice, I can verify the PS Audio NuWave Phono Converter is one such example.

    Happy Trails!

Brilliant, I have an OEM Technics 205mk3 and a SAS/B stylus. I ordered the SAS/R just to see if there was any difference and yes there is. It’s more detailed than either of the SAS/B and OEM. Definitely worth the extra $$.
