Description

Manufacturer : SHURE
Super Analog Stylus (SAS) Profile Tip
The tip of the is carefully chosen from single-crystal natural diamonds. The laser-cut diamond closely resembles that of the cutting stylus used on a cutting lathe to produce the acetate master disks used in vinyl production. This allows the SAS tip to reach into the deepest recesses of the record groove in order to retrieve details which were previously inaccessible to other stylus profiles. Due to its wide contact area with the groove wall, the SAS can reproduce a more expansive bandwidth of information with higher fidelity.
Cantilever
is one of the most suitable materials for cantilevers. its density is low, Young’s modulus is large, and the speed of sound propagation is approximately 2.6 times faster than that of aluminum. Due to the characteristics above, boron cantilever can more precisely trace the information contained in the record grooves than aluminum cantilever.

As the VN5xMR SAS for my V15RS and my V15VxMR, this N44-7X SAS for my SC35 is very very very excellent. V15RS, V15VxMR and 35 family (SC35, M35, M44GX, M44-7X …) have the same inductance 425 mH. My SC35 is made in Evanston (Illinois – USA). I don’t know if the same 4 coils in the SC35 made today in Mexico (as the V15RS, V15VxMR) is really less good than USA model in 70’s. In some months I will compare my 2 V15 and with the SC35. I suspect than SC35 (professional model) is able to give higher level without distorsion than V15 (audiophile model). Some people prefer V15VMR (330 mH inductance) as the V15VxMR. With only 425 mH, we have enough treble !!!! I don’t understand. At the begining of V15VMR, Shure produce hyperelliptical diamond, with beryllium cantilever of course. The stylus of V15RS is VNS3HE for example.
The N44-7X SAS has a high compliance, for light tonarm.
