Super Analog Stylus (SAS) Profile Tip
The tip of the is carefully chosen from single-crystal natural diamonds. The laser-cut diamond closely resembles that of the cutting stylus used on a cutting lathe to produce the acetate master disks used in vinyl production. This allows the SAS tip to reach into the deepest recesses of the record groove in order to retrieve details which were previously inaccessible to other stylus profiles. Due to its wide contact area with the groove wall, the SAS can reproduce a more expansive bandwidth of information with higher fidelity.
Cantilever
is one of the most suitable materials for cantilevers. its density is low, Young’s modulus is large, and the speed of sound propagation is approximately 2.6 times faster than that of aluminum. Due to the characteristics above, boron cantilever can more precisely trace the information contained in the record grooves than aluminum cantilever.
There is NO interchangeability between VN5MR and VN5xMR. Please confirm your cartridge / stylus number and select suitable stylus.

I own the Technics EPC-100C MkIV, which is likely the greatest MM cartridge ever made (absolutely flat response past 85 KHz, and -3 db past 95 KHz, all from a MM !). There are no more replacement styli available, so I use it VERY sparingly! Because of this, I have searched for a replacement that sounds as good. The JICO VN5MR installed in my V15-V MR is DEFINITELY the closest I have come. In fact, the JICO actually has more tonal color than the 100C MK IV, and slightly better bass. It is VERY sensitive to VTA and Azimuth, and has to be “spot on”. But when it’s really aligned well, it is an amazing device. Incredible detail and naturalness at the same time !

I disagree with them, who saying this is as good as the original. It is much better than the original, more musical, more juicy, more involved, more detail, more..in every aspect! But you need a very good system to get and listen to the differences. More better the system, much better the experience. I am thrilled!
    Beyond every expectation!

This stylus performs at least as well as the original Shure VN5MR. I haven’t tested it on Tchaikovski’s 1812 in the Telarc version with real cannons yet, but on normal records it tracks impeccable, producing a very natural and well balanced sound, without any harsh effects.

Jico as a company has a fully professional approach to customers, with good and clear communication and good support.
